I love lip balm! I do not however love the price of one tube or the ingredients that are used in so many of them. I’m not a super crafty, DIY person but this recipe is SO simple I figured even I could do it and I’m so glad I did. I love this stuff!! It is the perfect consistency and it smells yummy. I also love that I got 13 tubes for roughly the price that it would have cost me to purchase the brand I used to get. They also make a great gift!
Ingredients:
- 1/8 tsp Vitamin E Oil
- 2 Tbl Beeswax Pellets
- 2 Tbl Coconut Oil
- 1 Tbl Shea Butter
- 1 Tbl Cocoa Butter
- 15-30 Drops Essential Oil (I used Peppermint & Citrus Bliss)
Other Materials Needed:
- 12-13 Lip Gloss Containers
- Pot of boiling water
- Glass mason jar or bowl to fit over the pot
Instructions:
Place the glass bowl over the boiling water or the glass jar in the boiling water. Add the wax pellets and let them melt down. Then add in the Vitamin E Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, & Cocoa Butter. Stir until melted. Let cool off for a few minutes (maybe 2-3) before adding the essential oil. Carefully pour mixture into your lip balm containers. I used a small funnel & a Tablespoon to reduce the spills.
